SBK Extend their Sponsorship of the SBK Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase (Grade 3) and the SBK Solerina Hurdle (Grade 3)

Uncle Phil and Paul Townend winning the 2024 SBK Dan and Joan Moore Memorial Chase (Grade 3)

Fairyhouse Racecourse are delighted to announce SBK, the sportsbook app powered by Smarkets, will continue their support of Irish racing by extending their commitment to the SBK Dan & Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase and the SBK Solerina Hurdle which take place at Fairyhouse during a jam-packed January Jumps campaign at the Co Meath track.
The feature race on Saturday 11th January, the SBK Dan and Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase will carry the continued increased prize fund of €100,000 and has attracted 21 entries including previous SBK Dan and Joan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase winner Rebel Gold and former Grade 1 Royal Bond winner Farren Glory.
Speaking about the announcement Peter Roe, Fairyhouse Racecourse Manager commented:
“The SBK Dan and Joan Moore Chase has a long tradition at Fairyhouse and has fitted in well to it’s January date. The 2024 renewal was a great success with Uncle Phil making all for Champion trainer Willie Mullins who is well represented again this year”.
Similarly, the SBK Solernina Mares Novice Hurdle boasts a fine recent history. Last year’s winner Jade de Grugy followed in the footsteps of 2023 winner Ashroe Dimond in taking the SBK Solerina Hurdle on her way to Grade 1 victory in the Irish EBF Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival, a feat also achieved by Honeysuckle herself in 2019 as she set out on the road to stardom.
